So true. I have a lot of great stories from the time I was a mom with a passel of kids to take care of. My husband and I didn't have a lot of money so the kids did without a lot of things, but neighbours, pastors, friends and family always made sure we had what we needed...no strings attached. God blessed us, and I prayed for blessings on those generous souls.
Indeed, yes - Is there anything more powerful than giving? For God so loved - that he gave. For-giving. Thanks-giving. Care-giving. Maybe there is no such thing as a small act of giving. Even a smile or a 'hello' can bring comfort and joy. I'm glad you were able to walk away from the mishap -and how lovely that you so warmly and graciously received the help you needed that you felt moved to write and share an essay about it.
It always seems that it’s one more thing upon one more thing. But yes, it could have been worse. I’m thankful to be here and for the others I tried to mention here. The police couldn’t have been kinder and compassionate.
Thank the Lord you're okay and can write about this!
Woody, Thank you for all you're support. I'll reach out.
Very glad you're okay, Richard. And yes— we need helpers today more than ever. (Reminds me to update my CPR training.)
Glad you are OK, and in your piece today, I love how you showed that 'the helpers are us. It makes the call to action powerful.
You help once and then it becomes easier. <3
And when others help you, it's easier to pass it on.

It's great that you are okay, Richard. It has to be our first movement inside of us - to help when we see that someone needs help.
This is very true, Richard--a good reminder.
And I'm very glad that you are okay.
