That's so funny! I love Beowulf and it was the Seamus Heaney translation that I found most enjoyable too. If anyone ever asks me what Beowulf is about I'm going to send them this. Thanks!

I’m a member of a storytelling society and I like to take old and familiar stories to retell when I have the opportunity to attend a storytelling festival or I’m asked to share with a group.

Cool, will take a look at it, I’m thinking of reading the og anglo-saxon and his version side-by-side.

I have to ask, I don’t know any other adaptation in filme than 13th Warrior, any other you might recommend (not trying to dig, I just genuinely don’t know of any adaptations).

I’m thinking of doing some essays on Beowulf as the story really fascinates me.

Lots of folk tales from the Appalachian mountains of western NC, Tennessee, sw Virginia which are mostly passed down stories from our Gaelic and Celtic ancestors who settled this part of the world.
